This DMV practise tests for Colorado was just updated for September 2021. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signs and limitations from the Colorado Driver Handbook for 2021. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.

Each practise test question provides a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.

You must properly answer 20 out of 25 questions to receive the required passing grade. To help you prepare for your Colorado instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.

The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.

Using a testing aid of any kind will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

13 . This sign means:

This sign means:
Do not block intersection. Warning signs prepare drivers for upcoming road conditions and hazards and are usually yellow with black markings. This sign tells drivers that they are approaching an area with low clearance.

14 . A yellow light that flashes on and off means:

Slow down and proceed with caution. A flashing yellow traffic light means drivers should slow down and proceed with caution.

15 . If you drink alcohol socially, what helps ensure safe driving?

Stop drinking one half hour before driving. One strategy to avoid driving while impaired or intoxicated is to arrange for a ride home with a friend who does not drink. Drinking coffee or taking a cold shower cannot reduce your blood alcohol content or reduce the effects of alcohol. On average, it takes about an hour for the body to eliminate the alcohol from a single drink.

16 . A diamond-shaped sign:

Alerts drivers to upcoming food and gas locations. Diamond-shaped signs warn drivers of existing or potential driving hazards. You will usually see these signs in yellow or orange.

17 . To safely pass a bicycle, you should:

Rush ahead to pull in front of the bicyclist. When passing a bicyclist, slow down and give them as much space as you can. Bicyclists have much less protection than drivers of motor vehicles and they should not be crowded. Passing a bicycle too quickly can shift the bicyclist off-course.

18 . You approach an emergency vehicle that is stopped with its lights flashing. You must:

Accelerate to quickly pass the stopped vehicle. If you approach an emergency vehicle, tow truck, or roadside assistance vehicle that is stopped with its lights flashing, you must change lanes to allow the vehicle extra space. If there is only one lane moving in your direction, or if changing lanes would be unsafe, you must slow down to a speed below the posted speed limit and give the stationary vehicle as much room as possible. Always slow down and be prepared to stop when you approach an emergency scene.
