This DMV practise tests for Colorado include questions based on the most important traffic signs and limitations from the Colorado Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.

Each practise test question provides a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.

You must properly answer 20 out of 25 questions to receive the requisite passing grade. To help you prepare for your Colorado instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.

The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.

Using a testing aid of any kind will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

Do you currently have car insurance?

Before you start the test, please answer the following question regarding your insurance status.

Without insurance you will not be able to drive in Colorado

1 . You are waiting in the intersection to complete a left turn. You should:

Drive around the rear of a car if it blocks you. You must always signal before turning or changing lanes. You should keep your wheels straight while waiting to make a left turn. If another vehicle hits you from behind, this ensures that you will not be pushed into oncoming traffic.

2 . When entering a street from a driveway, you:

Can disregard any pedestrians if there is no sidewalk. Always stop before entering the roadway from a driveway and yield to any approaching vehicles or crossing pedestrians. The stop should be made before crossing the sidewalk area. Failure to stop is unlawful.

3 . This road sign means:

This road sign means:
Winding road ahead. This sign indicates that the road ahead turns sharply to the right and then sharply to the left.

4 . “Highway hypnosis” is a driving condition that can result from:

Short trips on expressways. "Highway hypnosis” happens when you stare straight ahead at the roadway for long periods of time and stop actively scanning ahead, behind, and around your vehicle. This can lead you to zone out, making you very likely to crash into traffic slowing or stopping ahead of you.

5 . An approaching driver fails to dim their high beam headlights. Where should you look?

Straight down the middle of the road. If an approaching driver fails to dim their high beams, glance toward the right side of the road. This will keep you from being blinded by the other vehicle’s headlights and will allow you to see enough of the road to stay on course until the other vehicle has passed.

6 . Which of the following are used on some highways to direct drivers into the proper lanes for turning?

White arrows in the middle of the lanes Arrows may be used to indicate which lanes should be used for specific purposes, such as driving straight or making a turn.
