FREE Montana DMV Practice Test #4 Page 5 of 5
The Montana DMV practise exams for January 2024 have been updated. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the Montana Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Montana DMV test.
You must properly answer 27 of the 33 questions to receive a passing mark. Take this Montana DMV practise test to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
27 . This sign means:
Regulation signs regulate traffic speed and movement, displaying rules which drivers must obey. This regulation sign means that left turns are prohibited.
28 . Pennant-shaped signs indicate:
Pennant-shaped signs usually indicate no passing zones. Text will also be on the sign to confirm that it is a no passing zone.
29 . You are approaching a railroad crossing and you do not see or hear a train. You must stop:
You must always stop before crossing railroad tracks if flashing red lights are activated, a crossing gate is lowered, a stop sign is posted, a flagger signals you to stop, or a train is visible or so close to the crossing that it would be hazardous to continue driving. If you are unsure if a train is too close for you to safely cross the tracks, stop. Never race a train.
30 . This sign means:
This sign indicates that there is a flagger ahead controlling traffic in a construction area.
31 . A flashing red light on a traffic signal means:
A flashing red light means the same thing as a stop sign. If you encounter a flashing red light, you should come to a complete stop, yield to appropriate traffic and pedestrians, and only proceed when it is safe to do so.
32 . Do not pass:
You should never pass if there is an oncoming vehicle in the passing lane, if your view is blocked by a curve or hill, at an intersection, before or on a railroad crossing or bridge, or in any other no passing zone. Unless you are on the opposite side of a multilane roadway with a median or shared center turn lane, you may not pass a stopped school bus that has its flashing red lights activated.
33 . If you move, you must report your change of address to the Driver License Bureau within:
To make sure your driver license is kept current, you must notify the Driver License Bureau of the Department of Justice within 10 days of any change of address. Forms for this purpose can be obtained from most county treasurers, a Montana Highway Patrol trooper, from any driver license examiner, or online.
