This DMV practise tests for Colorado include questions based on the most important traffic signs and limitations from the Colorado Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.

Each practise test question provides a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.

You must properly answer 20 out of 25 questions to receive the requisite passing grade. To help you prepare for your Colorado instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.

The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.

Using a testing aid of any kind will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

19 . If you are driving in another driver's blind spot, you should:

Honk to let them know you are there. Do not drive in someone else’s blind spot. Move forward or drop back so that the other driver can see you.

20 . This sign means:

This sign means:
Playground ahead. Circular traffic signs indicate upcoming railroad crossings. This sign tells drivers that they are approaching a railroad crossing and should be looking for signs of an oncoming train.

21 . This sign means:

This sign means:
You are approaching a hill. This sign warns that the road is slippery when wet.

22 . You are approaching an intersection when the traffic light changes from green to solid yellow. You should:

Speed up to get through the intersection before the red light appears. When approaching an intersection with a solid yellow traffic light, slow to a stop before entering the intersection, if it is safe to do so. If you can't stop safely, drive carefully through the intersection.

23 . This sign means:

This sign means:
No left turn. Warning signs prepare drivers for upcoming road conditions and hazards and are usually yellow with black markings. This sign alerts drivers to an upcoming curve in the road.

24 . A driver should be extra alert to motorcyclists, bicyclists, and pedestrians because:

They don’t have rearview mirrors. In many collisions with motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians, drivers reported that they were looking but still did not see the smaller vehicle or pedestrian. These can be more difficult to spot in traffic than passenger vehicles because they are smaller, may move faster, and have less noticeable lighting. To prevent collisions with these smaller and less protected road users, drivers should always be alert to the presence of motorcycles, bikes, and pedestrians.

25 . On a freeway, you realize you missed your turn or exit. You should:

Signal other drivers to stop so you can turn. If you miss your turn or exit, do not back up, but go on to the next turn or exit where you can safely turn around. It is illegal to back up on a shoulder or a freeway.
