Each practise test question provides a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.

You must properly answer 20 out of 25 questions to receive the required passing grade. To help you prepare for your Colorado instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.

The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.

Using a testing aid of any kind will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

13 . When driving behind a transit bus that is signaling to enter a traffic lane:

Either yield the right-of-way or don't yield the right-of-way. There is no specific rule. Drivers behind a transit bus are required to yield the right-of-way to the bus if it signals to enter a traffic lane. When encountering a transit bus trying to re-enter traffic, either change lanes or slow down to allow for safe merging.

14 . If a driver sees an animal on the roadway:

The driver should be very cautious. Be very cautious any time you encounter an animal on the roadway. Pass the animal slowly to avoid startling or frightening it.

15 . You are approaching a railroad crossing and you do not see or hear a train. You must stop:

All of the above. You must always stop before crossing railroad tracks if flashing red lights are activated, a crossing gate is lowered, a stop sign is posted, a flagger signals you to stop, or a train is visible or so close to the crossing that it would be hazardous to continue driving. If you are unsure if a train is too close for you to safely cross the tracks, stop. Never race a train.

16 . You are involved in an accident and your vehicle is blocking traffic. You should:

None of the above. After a minor collision, move your vehicle off the traveled portion of the roadway, if possible. Do not leave the scene of an accident without identifying yourself and rendering assistance.

17 . When preparing to turn left, drivers should:

All of the above. As you approach a left turn, signal your intentions three to five seconds in advance. Continually check your rearview mirror as you gradually slow down. On a multilane road, move into the left lane before reaching the intersection where you plan to turn. Yield to traffic and pedestrians and turn when your path is clear.

18 . Before changing lanes on a multilane highway, you should:

Check your mirrors and blind spots. Before changing lanes, you should look in your rearview and side mirrors to make sure no one is trying to pass you. You should also look over your shoulder to make sure that no one is in your blind spot.
