This DMV practise tests for Colorado include questions based on the most important traffic signs and limitations from the Colorado Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.

Each practise test question provides a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.

You must properly answer 20 out of 25 questions to receive the requisite passing grade. To help you prepare for your Colorado instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.

The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.

Using a testing aid of any kind will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

19 . This sign means:

This sign means:
Don’t park on the right side of the street. A sign with a red circle and slash over a symbol indicates that the action represented by the symbol (in this example, a right turn) is not allowed.

20 . This sign means:

This sign means:
Narrow bridge. Warning signs prepare drivers for upcoming road conditions and hazards and are usually yellow with black markings. This sign warns drivers about an upcoming steep hill. They should adjust their speed accordingly to avoid brake damage or collision.

21 . Reversible lanes are indicated by:

A single solid yellow line. Some travel lanes are designed to carry traffic in one direction at certain times then in the opposite direction at other times. These lanes are separated by a barrier or marked by double broken yellow lines.

22 . On a road which has no sidewalks, a pedestrian should walk on the:

Side of the road which has the heaviest traffic. Pedestrians should walk on the side of the road facing the traffic in the lane nearest them.

23 . When getting ready to change lanes, you should:

All of the above. Before changing lanes, check your side and rearview mirrors for traffic approaching you from behind. Just before you begin moving into the other lane, quickly glance over your shoulder and check for any vehicles that may be in your blind spot.

24 . If you need to drive in foggy weather:

Do not drive at a speed above 10 miles per hour. You are required to use your headlights during the day when visibility is reduced to 500 feet or less. When you first turn on your headlights, be sure they are adjusted to the low beam setting. Using high beams in fog or rain will cause the light to reflect back into your eyes, lowering visibility even more.

25 . Driving at night requires increased caution because:

Accidents occur more frequently at night. Because it is dark, drivers cannot see as well at night as they can during the day. From one half hour after sunset until one half hour before sunrise, or at any other time when persons or vehicles are not visible for 500 feet, drivers must use their headlights.
