This DMV practise tests for Colorado was just updated for September 2021. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signs and limitations from the Colorado Driver Handbook for 2021. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.

Each practise test question provides a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.

You must properly answer 20 out of 25 questions to receive the required passing grade. To help you prepare for your Colorado instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.

The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.

Using a testing aid of any kind will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

This road sign means:
Soft shoulders. This sign (with the arrow below) indicates the location of a bicycle crossing/path. Drive with caution around this sign because bicycles likely regularly cross or ride beside traffic in the area.

14 . When meeting a car with blinding headlights, you should:

Look toward the right side of the road. If a vehicle comes toward you with its high beams on, look away from the headlights and toward the right side of the road until the car has passed. This will keep you from being blinded.

15 . When driving in rain, you must:

Use no lights. In rainy conditions, you should use your low beam headlights.

16 . If your car starts to skid, turn your steering wheel:

In any direction. It doesn't matter. If your vehicle goes into a skid, you should turn the steering wheel in the direction you want the vehicle to go. As soon as the vehicle begins to straighten out, turn the steering wheel back the other way.

17 . If you need to stop quickly and your vehicle is not equipped with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), you should:

Release the brake pedal. Pumping the brakes is generally the best way to stop a car in an emergency. The car will stop quickly and you will also be able to continue steering.

18 . If an officer is directing traffic at a working traffic light, drivers should:

Check to see what the cars next to them are doing. Traffic signals are placed at intersections to keep traffic moving and to help prevent crashes. Drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists must obey these signals, except in instances when an officer is directing traffic.
