FREE Colorado DMV Practice Test #10 Page 3 of 4
This DMV practise tests for Colorado was just updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signs and limitations from the Colorado Driver Handbook for 2024. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each practise test question provides a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.
You must properly answer 20 out of 25 questions to receive the requisite passing grade. To help you prepare for your Colorado instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.
The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.
Using a testing aid of any kind will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.
13 . If a driver accumulates a minimum of ____ points in a 24-month period, their license will be suspended.
Certain offenses committed while driving will count against the driver in Colorado's system of suspending driver licenses. If a driver accrues 18 points or more within a 24-month period, their license will be suspended.
14 . Pentagonal signs indicate:
Pentagonal signs indicate that you are in a school zone. Be extra alert to children and pedestrians when driving near a school.
15 . You are entering a crowded freeway. What should you do to merge into traffic?
Use the entrance ramp to accelerate to the speed of freeway traffic and yield to traffic already using the freeway. Before entering traffic, use your mirrors and check your blind spots to verify that you have room to safely merge.
16 . To change lanes you should:
Before changing lanes, you should activate your turn signal in the appropriate direction and check your rearview and side mirrors. Look over your shoulder in the direction you plan to move in order to check your blind spot and check the far lane to be sure no one else is trying to enter the same lane as you. Change lanes when you are sure it is safe to do so.
17 . A “No stopping” sign means that, unless directed to do so by a police officer, you may stop only:
A "No stopping" sign means you can only stop to obey a traffic signal, to obey a police officer, or to prevent a conflict with another vehicle.
18 . When driving on wet pavement, it's important to remember:
Wet roadway surfaces can be dangerously slick, especially immediately following a rainfall. When you are driving on wet roads, your vehicle is traveling on a thin layer of oil, dirt, and water. Slow down when there is heavy rain, standing water, or slush on the road to reduce the risk of your wheels losing traction on the slick surface.
