This set of practise tests for the Hawaii DMV include questions based on the most important traffic signs and legislation from the Hawaii Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.

Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.

You must properly answer 24 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. To help you prepare for your Hawaii instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.

The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.

Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.

13 . This sign means:

This sign means:
Flagger ahead. This sign indicates that there is a flagger ahead controlling traffic in a construction area.

14 . Defensive driving is:

Quickly changing lanes and shifting in and out of traffic congestion. You drive defensively when you identify dangerous driving situations and take action before an accident occurs. Defensive driving helps prevent conflicts with aggressive, offensive, discourteous, careless, inattentive, impulsive, ignorant, or intoxicated drivers or pedestrians.

15 . Newer vehicles have equipment warning lamps installed on the instrument panel. Which of the following statements is correct?

The lamps will only illuminate if the headlights are turned on. Equipment warning lamps on a vehicle instrument panel should all be illuminated when the ignition switch is turned on. A warning lamp that is not illuminated when the ignition switch is turned on indicates that the lamp is not functioning.

16 . A telltale sign of a drunk driver is:

All of the above. Telltale signs of drunk driving include speeding, weaving, driving more slowly than the normal traffic flow, making jerking motions, and making quick and sudden stops.

17 . Railroad crossings should always be considered:

A place where it is required to stop Railroad crossings are always dangerous. Drivers should always look and listen for trains approaching from either direction on all railroad tracks. Always follow the directions indicated by signs, signals, and flaggers. Never proceed past a railroad crossing until you are certain it is safe to do so.

18 . When you are being tailgated:

All of the above. If you are being tailgated by another driver and there is a right lane, move over to the right. If there is no right lane, wait until the road ahead is clear and then reduce your speed slowly. This will encourage the tailgater to drive around you. Never slow down abruptly as this will only increase the risk of your vehicle being hit from behind.
