This set of practise tests for the Hawaii DMV include questions based on the most important traffic signs and legislation from the Hawaii Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.

Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.

You must properly answer 24 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. To help you prepare for your Hawaii instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.

The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.

Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.

Do you currently have car insurance?

Before you start the test, please answer the following question regarding your insurance status.

Without insurance you will not be able to drive in Hawaii

19 . A work zone:

All of the above. Work zones are often stationary, but they may also be present in the form of moving vehicles striping lines, mowing, or removing snow. Work zones are marked by orange signs with black lettering or symbols. Slow down and pay extra attention when approaching or driving through a work zone.

20 . Work zone signs mean:

You should drive faster to get out of the work zone. Work zone signs are orange and indicate that some type of work is being performed on or alongside the roadway. Be extremely careful when you see these signs.

21 . What should you do when you are going to enter a roadway from a private road?

Yield the right-of-way to pedestrians and roadway traffic. When entering a roadway from a driveway or private road, you must yield the right-of-way to pedestrians and traffic on the roadway.

22 . You are driving on a busy street and your vehicle’s accelerator sticks open. You should:

Turn off your ignition, taking care not to engage the steering wheel locking mechanism. If your vehicle’s accelerator sticks open, your vehicle will continue to maintain its speed or accelerate, even if you remove your foot from the gas pedal. Turn off the ignition, using care to move the ignition switch only far enough to stop the engine and not engage the steering wheel locking mechanism. Apply your brakes and move off the road to a safe area.

23 . A driver can legally pass on the right side of another vehicle:

At any time. If there is an available passing lane, you may pass on the right of a vehicle or bicycle that is turning left or waiting to turn left. It is also legal to pass on the right when driving on a multilane road with two or more lanes traveling in the same direction. You may never drive off the pavement or main-traveled portion of the road to pass another vehicle.

24 . When towing a trailer, ensure that it is equipped with:

All of the above. The wheels of a trailer should be properly mounted and lubricated and must be covered with fenders or mud guards. A trailer should have good tires that are properly inflated. It should be equipped with the proper lamps and reflectors.
