This Alaska DMV practise tests contain questions based on the most essential traffic signs and limitations from the Alaska Driver Handbook. Use actual questions that are very close (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to prepare for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.

To help you recall the topics, each practise test question includes a suggestion and explanation. The written component of the official DMV test will include questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook.

To get the required passing mark, you must correctly answer 16 out of 20 questions. Take our DMV practise exam to help you prepare for your Alaska instruction permit or driver's licence.

The DMV exam is available in multiple languages.

Using any form of testing aid will result in an automatic failure, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

14 . Which of the following statements is not true?

You may not drive below the posted speed limit. Driving at high speeds results in tire wear and poor gasoline mileage. Vary your speed from time to time to prevent monotony and road hypnosis. You are not required to drive at the maximum speed limit. However, you should not drive so slowly that you interrupt the flow of traffic.

15 . When approaching a school bus stopped with its stop arm extended, drivers should:

Pass the bus before its door opens. When approaching a stopped school bus that is using its stop signal, a driver is required to come to a complete stop. They should not proceed until the stop arm is withdrawn.

16 . You encounter a school bus stopped with its lights flashing on the opposite side of a divided highway. You should:

Continue driving. A driver may continue driving when encountering a school bus that is stopped with its lights flashing if the school bus is on the opposite side of a divided highway.

17 . A conviction of reckless driving will result in:

Revocation of your driving privileges. Reckless driving is a willful disregard for the safety of persons and property. Conviction will result in license revocation.

18 . Stop lines are solid white lines painted across traffic lanes:

On freeway on-ramps. Stop lines are solid white lines painted across traffic lanes at intersections and pedestrian crosswalks. They indicate the exact location at which approaching drivers must stop.

19 . In a vehicle not equipped with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), you should pump your brakes to slow down because:

It stops you faster. Pump brakes lightly to slow down or stop on a slippery surface. If your vehicle is equipped with ABS, check your vehicle manual for instructions on use.

20 . You must yield to other drivers:

All of the above. You must yield to other drivers when entering a street from an alley, driveway, or garage. You must also yield to pedestrians who are on an intersecting sidewalk.
