FREE Rhode Island DMV Practice Test #10
The DMV practise exams in Rhode Island have been updated for January 2024. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the Rhode Island Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Rhode Island DMV test.
You must properly answer 21 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the Rhode Island Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.

2 . Two solid white lines painted across a traffic lane show the boundaries of a crosswalk. As a driver, you should know that:
Crosswalk lines show pedestrians where to safely cross a road or street. Crosswalks may be marked by horizontal lines, vertical lines, or a combination of the two. You must always stop for pedestrians who are in a crosswalk.
3 . There may be times when 10 mph is too fast for drivers to safely operate their vehicles.
Drive below the posted speed limit when safety demands it. Some traffic, weather, or visibility conditions may require you to drive as slowly as 10 miles per hour.
4 . An orange and red triangular sign on a vehicle always means:
Slow-moving vehicles, such as farm tractors, road maintenance vehicles, and animal-drawn carts, display an orange and red triangle on the back.
5 . If you park facing uphill where there is no curb, set the parking brake and:
When parking uphill on a road that does not have a curb, your front wheels should be turned to the right (toward the edge of the road). This will ensure that the vehicle will roll off of the road if the brakes fail.
6 . If you have had several beers, the effects of alcohol will be reduced only by:
The only way to remove the impairing effects of alcohol is to give the body time to remove it from the body. Drinking coffee, physical activity, or taking a cold shower will not speed up this process. It takes about one hour to cancel the effects of one drink.
7 . What can you do to avoid the need to make emergency stops while driving in traffic?
Keeping a safe following distance will enable you to react to an upcoming problem without the need for a emergency stop, which could cause a driver behind you to crash into the back of your vehicle.
8 . If you are driving in another driver's blind spot, you should:
Do not drive in someone else’s blind spot. Move forward or drop back so that the other driver can see you.
