FREE New Mexico DMV Practice Test #4
The DMV practise exams in New Mexico have been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the New Mexico Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official New Mexico DMV test.
You must properly answer 18 of the 25 questions to receive a passing mark. To help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence, take this practise test from the New Mexico Department of Motor Vehicles.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.

“HOV” stands for “High Occupancy Vehicles.” HOV lanes are reserved for vehicles with more than one occupant. Signs indicate how many people must be in the vehicle, as well as the days and hours during which the restriction applies.
3 . Unless otherwise posted, the maximum speed limit on a public highway is:
When driving on a public highway, the maximum speed limit is 55 miles per hour. If a different speed limit is posted, follow the posted speed limit.
4 . A driver entering public traffic from a driveway or private road:
If you are entering traffic from a driveway or private road, you should yield to drivers already on the public road. Merge safely into traffic when you are able to do so.
5 . The most common color of warning signs is:
Most warning signs are diamond-shaped and yellow with black markings. These signs warn drivers about unexpected conditions that may not be readily apparent.
6 . You should drive on the shoulder to pass a car:
Passing on the right is permissible only if it is possible to do so without driving off the roadway. Never pass another vehicle on the shoulder because the other driver will not expect you to be there and may pull off the road.
7 . When may you change lanes while turning?
When making turns, go from one lane to the other as directly as possible without crossing lane lines or interfering with traffic. Once you have completed your turn, you may change to another lane.
8 . If you are getting tired while driving, you should:
To avoid the dangers of fatigued driving, take breaks every hour or so during a long trip. If possible, share driving responsibilities with another person so you can each sleep while the other person drives.
