FREE Arizona DMV Practice Test #6 Page 3 of 4
This DMV practise tests for Arizona was just updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signs and restrictions from the 2024 Arizona Driver Handbook. To prepare for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each practise test question offers a recommendation and explanation to help you remember the topics. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.
You must properly answer 24 out of 30 questions to receive a passing grade. To help you prepare for your Arizona instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.
The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.
Using a testing aid of any kind will result in an automatic failure, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

Yellow signs with black markings are used to warn drivers about upcoming hazards or special conditions. Round signs are used only to warn about upcoming railroad crossings.
18 . When passing another vehicle, you should return to your original lane when:
When passing another vehicle, move back into your original lane only when you can see the passed vehicle’s headlights in your rearview mirror. This ensures that you will have enough room to safely pull back in front of the other vehicle.

Warning signs are usually yellow with black markings. This sign indicates that the road ahead will turn sharply to the right and then sharply to the left.
20 . Roads are slippery after it first starts to rain. When the road is slippery, you should:
A wet, slippery road does not allow your tires the traction they need, so it is necessary to drive more slowly on a wet road than you would on a dry road. To reduce the risk of skidding, you should avoid fast turns or stops.
21 . If you must park your vehicle in an area not usually used for parking:
Drivers are responsible for making sure their vehicles do not become hazards after they have been parked. Wherever you park, make sure your car is visible to drivers approaching from any direction.
22 . To avoid hydroplaning while driving in rainy conditions, you should:
When driving too quickly in wet conditions, your tires may lose all contact with the road surface. Loss of traction will cause the vehicle to ride on top of the water, which is called "hydroplaning." The best way to prevent this from happening is to drive more slowly in rainy or wet conditions than you would when driving during ideal weather conditions.
23 . When may you legally drive around or under a railroad crossing gate?
Do not go around or under any lowered gate at a railroad crossing. Once the gate is raised, do not proceed across the tracks until you can see clearly in both directions and are sure there are no trains coming.
24 . To avoid glare from the headlights of an approaching car:
You should avoid looking toward the bright lights of an oncoming vehicle by glancing toward the right side of the road. After looking briefly toward the side of the road, continue looking ahead to check on the position of the other vehicle.
