This Alaska DMV practise tests has just been updated for September 2021. It contains questions based on the most essential traffic signs and limitations from the Alaska Driver Handbook for 2021. Use actual questions that are very close (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to prepare for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.

To help you recall the topics, each practise test question includes a suggestion and explanation. The written component of the official DMV test will include questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook.

To get the required passing mark, you must correctly answer 16 out of 20 questions. Take our DMV practise exam to help you prepare for your Alaska instruction permit or driver's licence.

The DMV exam is available in multiple languages.

Using any form of testing aid will result in an automatic failure, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

7 . You want to turn left at an intersection. The light is green but oncoming traffic is heavy. You should:

Take the right-of-way since you have a green light. When making a left turn where there is approaching traffic, you must wait for the approaching traffic to go through before you turn. You may enter the intersection to prepare for your left turn if the light is green and no other vehicle ahead of you plans to make a left turn.

8 . At an intersection with a traffic light displaying a green arrow, you should:

Accelerate and quickly turn. If you are in the proper lane, you must make the movement indicated by an arrow displayed on a traffic signal. A movement indicated by an arrow has the right-of-way and should not conflict with pedestrians or other vehicles. However, still be alert to other drivers and pedestrians who are wrongfully within the intersection.

9 . This road sign means:

This road sign means:
No right turn. This sign indicates that right turns are prohibited.

10 . A license may be suspended for:

All of these. Violating motor vehicle laws and accumulating points against your driving record may result in the suspension or revocation of your driving privileges.

11 . You notice that the driver in the vehicle ahead of you is driving with one hand and talking to a passenger. You should:

All of the above. Do not become distracted by looking at passengers, attempting to find something in your vehicle, looking at reading material, sightseeing, or daydreaming while driving. If a driver near you seems distracted, allow them extra space because the risk of an accident is increased by their inattentiveness.

12 . A pedestrian starts to cross in front of your vehicle. You should:

Stop and let the pedestrian cross. Slow down and be prepared to stop whenever you see pedestrians walking on or crossing the roadway. Be particularly careful where children are present. Always yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing in a crosswalk.

13 . In a vehicle not equipped with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), you should pump your brakes to slow down because:

It stops you faster. Pump brakes lightly to slow down or stop on a slippery surface. If your vehicle is equipped with ABS, check your vehicle manual for instructions on use.
