This Alaska DMV practise tests has just been updated for September 2021. It contains questions based on the most essential traffic signs and limitations from the Alaska Driver Handbook for 2021. Use actual questions that are very close (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to prepare for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.

To help you recall the topics, each practise test question includes a suggestion and explanation. The written component of the official DMV test will include questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook.

To get the required passing mark, you must correctly answer 16 out of 20 questions. Take our DMV practise exam to help you prepare for your Alaska instruction permit or driver's licence.

The DMV exam is available in multiple languages.

Using any form of testing aid will result in an automatic failure, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

9 . When parking your vehicle downhill on a two-way street:

Leave your transmission in neutral. When you park on a downward-facing slope, turn your wheels sharply toward the side of the road. This way, if your vehicle starts to roll downhill, it will roll away from traffic.

This sign means:
Roadwork ahead. Warning signs prepare drivers for upcoming road conditions and hazards and are usually yellow with black markings. This sign tells drivers to be cautious when driving under conditions that may cause the roadway to become wet and slippery.

11 . You are waiting in the intersection to complete a left turn. You should:

Drive around the rear of a car if it blocks you. You must always signal before turning or changing lanes. You should keep your wheels straight while waiting to make a left turn. If another vehicle hits you from behind, this ensures that you will not be pushed into oncoming traffic.

12 . If an emergency vehicle with flashing lights is traveling in the area where you are driving, you should:

Signal to the emergency vehicle when it is clear for them to pass you. If an emergency vehicle with flashing lights is traveling in the area where you are driving, you must make every effort to give them a clear path of travel. If it is safe to do so, pull your vehicle to the side of the road to give the emergency vehicle an open pathway.

13 . On a two-lane street, your vehicle is being followed by a fire engine that is not using its emergency signals. You should:

Slow down, move as far to the right as possible, and stop. If you are being followed by an emergency vehicle that is not using its siren or flashing lights, you do not need to clear a path. Continue driving in a normal manner.
