FREE Kentucky DMV Practice Test #14
The DMV practise tests in Kentucky have been updated for January 2024. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the KentuckyDriver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Kentucky DMV test.
You must properly answer 32 of the 40 questions to receive a passing mark. To help you prepare for your Kentucky instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
1 . When passing another vehicle, it is safe to return to your lane if you:
Before returning to your original lane after passing, you must make sure you are not dangerously close to the vehicle you have just passed. When you can see both of the vehicle's headlights in your rearview mirror, you may have enough room to return to the lane.
2 . When approaching a curve in the road, you should reduce your speed:
Reduce your speed before entering a curve in the road so you will not have to brake hard once in the curve. Braking in a curve may cause a skid and make it difficult for you to control your vehicle.
3 . In Kentucky, when may hand signals be used by drivers of passenger vehicles in the place of mechanical turn signals?
In Kentucky, your car must have working mechanical turn signals. Hand signals may not be used by those driving on Kentucky roadways. Farm, construction, and animal-drawn vehicles are exceptions to this rule and their drivers may need to use hand signals. Bicyclists may also use hand signals.
4 . At a railroad crossing, you must:
You must approach all railroad crossings with extreme caution and cross only when you know that no train is coming from either direction. Be aware of vehicles that must stop at all railroad crossings, such as school buses and trucks carrying hazardous materials.
5 . If you find that the roadway ahead of you is flooded, you should:
Never attempt to drive on a flooded road. Even if the water looks shallow, it may hide many kinds of hazards. If you encounter a flooded area, turn around and seek another route to your destination.
7 . To improve visibility lowered by rain or fog, drivers should use their:
Use low beam headlights when driving in rain, snow, sleet, or fog. High beam headlights in adverse weather conditions lower visibility by reflecting off the precipitation and back into the driver's eyes.
8 . This road sign means:
Regulatory signs provide notice to road users of traffic laws that must be obeyed. This particular sign tells you the maximum speed limit for the stretch of highway where it is posted. You may drive more slowly than the posted speed limit, based on road conditions, but it is illegal to drive any faster than the posted speed limit.
