FREE Arkansas DMV Practice Test #22 Page 3 of 3
This Arkansas DMV practise tests was recently updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the 2024 Arkansas Driver Handbook's most essential traffic signs and restrictions. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
To help you remember the concepts, each practise test question includes a recommendation and explanation. The written component of the official DMV test will include questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook.
To receive the required passing grade, you must correctly answer 20 out of 25 questions. Take our DMV practise exam to help you prepare for your Arkansas instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is available in multiple languages.
Using any form of testing aid will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.
17 . When may you legally drive around or under a railroad crossing gate?
Do not go around or under any lowered gate at a railroad crossing. Once the gate is raised, do not proceed across the tracks until you can see clearly in both directions and are sure there are no trains coming.
18 . When turning left at an intersection:
When turning left at an intersection, yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic and pedestrians. Once the intersection is clear and applicable signals allow, you may complete the turn.
19 . Driving more slowly than surrounding traffic is:
Driving more slowly than other traffic can be dangerous. Drivers behind you may become impatient and will be tempted to take dangerous risks to pass you.
20 . A solid white line down the center of a road indicates that:
If a line separating lanes of traffic is solid, drivers may not cross the line to pass or change lanes. White lines separate lanes of traffic moving in the same direction.
21 . At intersections with a "Yield" sign, you must:
At a yield sign, you must slow down or stop, if necessary, and give the right-of-way to crossing or merging vehicles. Yield the right-of-way to any cross traffic that is close enough to cause conflict.
22 . When crossing a sidewalk while entering or exiting a driveway, drivers:
Drivers crossing a sidewalk when entering or exiting a driveway, alley, or parking lot must yield to pedestrians. It is illegal to drive on a sidewalk except to cross it.
23 . In Arkansas, shared center lanes can be used:
A shared center turn lane is marked on each side with a solid yellow line next to a dashed yellow line. Shared center lanes are reserved for drivers making left turns and can be used by vehicles traveling in either direction. In Arkansas, it is permissible for a vehicle making a left turn from a street or driveway to utilize a center lane as part of the maneuver to gain access to or merge into traffic lanes. It is not permissible to use the center lane as an acceleration lane.
24 . You should not make sudden stops in front of large trucks and buses because:
Large vehicles require longer distances to stop and accelerate than smaller vehicles do. Making a sudden stop in front of a large vehicle is dangerous because the other driver may not be able to stop in time to avoid a collision.
25 . When crossing a sidewalk to enter traffic from an alley or driveway, drivers should:
When leaving an alley, driveway, or parking lot to enter a roadway, you must stop before driving onto a sidewalk or sidewalk area. Pedestrians and existing traffic have the right-of-way.
