FREE Wisconsin DMV Practice Test #15 Page 6 of 7
The Wisconsin DMV practise examinations have been updated for January 2025. It includes questions based on the Wisconsin Driver Handbook's most significant traffic signals and legislation for 2025. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
On the practise exam, each question gets a tip and explanation to help you remember the concepts. The written component of the official Wisconsin DMV test will include questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook.
To obtain a passing grade, you must correctly answer 40 of the 50 questions. Use the practise exam provided by the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is available in several languages.
Using any kind of testing assistance will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so stay away from it.
36 . You are approaching an intersection with a steady yellow traffic light. If you have not already entered the intersection, you should:
When a steady yellow light appears on a traffic signal, you should prepare to stop. If you are already within the intersection, you should clear the intersection as quickly as possible.
37 . You come to an intersection that is blocked by other traffic. You should:
You cannot enter an intersection if traffic is backed up on the other side and you cannot get completely through the intersection. Wait until traffic ahead clears so you do not block the intersection.
38 . Prior to entering a curve:
You may drive more slowly than the posted speed limit, based on road conditions, but it is illegal to drive any faster than the posted speed limit. Some conditions which require reduced speed for safety include approaching curves or hills where visibility is limited, driving on slippery roads, and driving on roads where animals and pedestrians are present.
39 . You are borrowing an unfamiliar vehicle from a friend. You should:
When driving an unfamiliar vehicle, take a few minutes before driving to familiarize yourself with the location and operation of the turn signals, hazard warning signals, headlights and beam selector, windshield wipers and washers, brakes, gear selector, and horn. Any defects should be corrected before the vehicle is driven.
40 . When double solid yellow lines separate lanes of traffic:
Yellow lines separating lanes of traffic indicate that traffic is moving in opposite directions. Double solid lines indicate that passing is not permitted from either direction.
41 . What is the only medically proven method of removing alcohol or other drug combinations from your system?
Alcohol takes effect quickly and is slow to leave your system. Cold showers, black coffee, and exercise will do nothing to reduce a person's blood alcohol content (BAC). The only way to lower your BAC is to wait.
42 . What is the maximum speed limit in residential and business areas where there are no posted speed limits?
Unless otherwise posted, the speed limit on residential and business streets is 25 miles per hour.
