FREE Virginia DMV Practice Test #6 Page 5 of 5
The practise exams for the Virginia DMV have been updated for January 2024. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the Virginia Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Virginia DMV test.
You must properly answer 30 of the 35 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.

Choosing to eat, drink, or smoke while driving is dangerous because these actions require a driver to remove their hands from the wheel and their eyes from the road. Drivers who engage in distracting activities while driving have trouble staying in their lanes and controlling their vehicles.
30 . Cell phones can be a serious source of driver distractions.
When on the road, drivers should not use cell phones, computers, or other distracting devices, except to report a crash or emergency. Your full attention should be devoted to driving.
31 . When driving on slick roads, you should:
While it is always dangerous to drive too fast on slippery roads, this is especially true when driving in turns and curves. Be sure to approach them more slowly in slippery conditions than you would under normal circumstances.
32 . A court may suspend or revoke your driving privilege if you are convicted of:
A court may suspend or revoke a person's driving privilege if they are convicted of one of several offenses. Evading the police, failing to properly pay for gasoline, taking the licensing exam for another person, or making a false statement to the DMV can result in license suspension or revocation.
33 . At a light rail intersection, always:
You should never drive around lowered crossing gates. Always look both ways before turning across train tracks and always obey signs and traffic signals. Trains share the road with motor vehicles and bicyclists.
34 . You are coming to an intersection and have a green light. Pedestrians are crossing against the red. You should:
Yield to pedestrians and cars that may be caught in an intersection when you have a green light. Be careful around pedestrians under every circumstance.
35 . Drivers should have a minimum of ____ in property damage liability insurance coverage.
To meet legal standards for liability insurance coverage in the state of Virginia, a driver must have $25,000 of coverage for injury or death of one person, $50,000 of coverage for injury or death of two or more people, and $20,000 of coverage for property damage. If uninsured, a driver must pay a $500 uninsured vehicle fee.
