FREE Texas DMV Practice Test #12 Page 3 of 5
For January 2024, the Texas DMV practise exams have been revised. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the Texas Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Texas DMV test.
You must properly answer 21 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
13 . If you have the right-of-way at an intersection, you should:
After stopping at an intersection, take the extra time to check for crossing traffic and bicyclists before moving. It is recommended that you look left, then right, then left again before entering the intersection.
14 . Emergency vehicles:
You must yield the right-of-way to police cars, fire engines, ambulances, or any other emergency vehicles using a siren or air horn and a red or blue flashing light. Follow any instructions given over the emergency vehicles' loudspeakers. Emergency vehicles often follow each other so you should proceed only when you are certain the way is clear.
15 . When making a left turn, you should not:
You should slow down and activate your left turn signal before making a left turn. Be careful not to cut the corner short, as this may interfere with other vehicles.
16 . This sign means:
Warning signs prepare drivers for upcoming road conditions and hazards and are usually yellow with black markings. This sign alerts drivers to potential bicycle cross traffic.
17 . Which of the following is true about driving on a wet roadway?
The faster you drive on a wet roadway, the less effective your tires will be at wiping the water from the road. If your speed becomes excessive enough, your tires will lose their grip on the road entirely and you will begin to hydroplane (that is, to slide down the road on a film of water).
18 . Increasing your vehicle’s speed:
The faster you drive, the smaller your field of vision becomes. As your speed increases and your field of vision decreases, you must be extra alert to potential hazards.
