FREE New Jersey DMV Practice Test #15 Page 3 of 7
New Jersey's DMV practise examinations have been revised for January 2024. It includes questions based on the New Jersey Driver Handbook's most essential traffic signals and regulations for 2024. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
On the practise exam, each question gets a tip and explanation to help you remember the concepts. The written component of the official New Jersey DMV test will include questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook.
To obtain a passing grade, you must correctly answer 40 of the 50 questions. Take this practise test from the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is available in several languages.
Using any kind of testing assistance will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so stay away from it.
15 . A good rule to remember for passing is:
Each time you pass another vehicle, there is an increased chance for a collision. If you are moving faster than surrounding traffic, you will have to continue passing others. Drive with the flow of traffic, within the legal speed limit, and pass only as needed.
16 . You must pull over to the edge of the road and allow an emergency vehicle to pass:
You must pull over to the right edge of the road and stop for an emergency vehicle with flashing lights, regardless of whether it is approaching you from behind or from the opposite direction.
17 . A driver who is under the age of 21 and operating on a probationary license may transport their dependents and:
Drivers with probationary licenses must adhere to certain restrictions while behind the wheel. Drivers under the age of 21 may only transport passengers who are their dependents, as well as up to one other passenger.
18 . You should honk your horn when you:
Your horn should be used as a warning in situations where you think another driver or a pedestrian does not see you. For example, if a child begins to run into the street in front of your vehicle, you should sound your horn.
19 . When you park uphill on a street with a curb:
When parking on an incline where there is a curb, you should turn your wheels sharply to the left, away from the curb. This way, if your brakes fail, your vehicle will not roll into traffic.
20 . When a stop is required at an intersection and no markings appear to indicate a stop line or crosswalk, a driver:
If there is no stop line or crosswalk, you should stop at the point nearest to the intersecting roadway where you can get a view of approaching traffic. You should not enter the intersecting roadway to gain a better view.
21 . A steady yellow light at an intersection means:
A steady yellow light indicates that a steady red light will soon appear. If you are driving toward an intersection and a yellow light appears, slow down and prepare to stop. If you are already within the intersection or cannot stop safely before entering the intersection, continue through carefully.
