FREE New Hampshire DMV Practice Test #20 Page 5 of 5
The DMV practise exams in New Hampshire have been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signals and legislation in the New Hampshire Driver Handbook for 2024. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official New Hampshire DMV test.
You must properly answer 32 of the 40 questions to receive a passing mark. Take this New Hampshire DMV practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
33 . Roads become very slippery:
Pavement can become very slippery within the first 10 to 15 minutes of a rainstorm because the rain causes oil in the asphalt to rise to the surface of the road. This problem becomes even worse in hot weather. The heat combined with the water causes more oil to rise to the road surface.
34 . How can you verify that you are stopped behind a vehicle at a safe distance?
When stopped behind another vehicle, stay back at a distance that allows you to see the ground under the vehicle’s rear wheels. This will allow you to safely move around the vehicle if needed. A space cushion will also help if you are parked on a hill and the car in front of you begins to roll backward after the driver releases the brake pedal.
35 . This sign means:
This sign prohibits U-turns. Do not make a U-turn where this sign is posted.
36 . In which of the following ways can alcoholic beverages affect you?
Alcohol dulls the parts of your brain that control inhibition, judgment, and self-control. As a result, you may feel stimulated, lively, and a bit giddy or foolish after consuming alcohol. Alcohol also impairs your reaction time, coordination, and balance. Your vision and ability to judge distance suffers after alcohol consumption, making it difficult to react to your surroundings.
37 . You must stop for a school bus:
You must stop when approaching a school bus that is displaying flashing red lights while stopped to pick up or drop off children. On a two-lane road, traffic moving in both directions must stop and remain stopped as long as the red lights near the top of the bus are flashing and/or the stop arm on the left side of the bus is extended.
38 . Coming to a complete stop at an intersection, yielding to cross traffic/pedestrians, and then proceeding through the intersection when the way is clear corresponds with:
A flashing red traffic light means the same thing as a stop sign. You must come to a complete stop, yield to cross traffic and pedestrians, and then proceed when the way is clear.
39 . Many crashes are caused by:
Many crashes are caused by drivers who are driving too fast for conditions. Always drive within the legal speed limits and decrease your speed any time conditions are less than perfect.
40 . As you near an intersection, the traffic light changes from green to yellow. Your best action is to:
A steady yellow traffic light indicates that the light will soon change to red. You should be prepared to stop for the red light, if it is safe to do so.
