Under Georgia law, in the passenger area of any vehicle:

In Georgia, it is illegal for anyone to consume alcohol or possess an open container of alcohol while in the passenger area of any motor vehicle. An operator who is alone in a vehicle where there is an open container will be deemed to be in possession of it.
