If you refuse to take an alcohol level test when requested by an officer:

By riding on Maine's roads, you automatically consent to taking a test determining your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) when requested by an officer. Refusing this test can result in automatic license suspension for up to six years. You can still be convicted of operating under the influence (OUI) even if you refuse to take the test.
