FREE Kentucky DMV Practice Test #10 Page 3 of 5
The DMV practise tests in Kentucky have been updated for January 2024. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the KentuckyDriver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Kentucky DMV test.
You must properly answer 32 of the 40 questions to receive a passing mark. To help you prepare for your Kentucky instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
17 . If it is necessary to make an emergency stop while driving on an interstate, you should:
If you must stop on the shoulder of the interstate or highway, turn on your emergency flashers to warn other drivers and stay inside your vehicle, if you can. The extremely high speed of traffic makes standing or walking along an interstate highway very dangerous.
18 . Roads with double solid yellow line markings down the center indicate that passing is:
A double solid yellow line down the center of a road indicates that traffic is moving in opposite directions and that passing is not allowed from either direction.
19 . It is legal to make a left turn at a red traffic light after stopping only if:
After coming to a complete stop, you may turn left at a red light only if you are traveling on a one-way street and turning onto another one-way street. Only make the turn if there are no posted signs prohibiting such a turn.
20 . To avoid hydroplaning while driving in rainy conditions, you should:
When driving too quickly in wet conditions, your tires may lose all contact with the road surface. Loss of traction will cause the vehicle to ride on top of the water, which is called "hydroplaning." The best way to prevent this from happening is to drive more slowly in rainy or wet conditions than you would when driving during ideal weather conditions.
21 . A solid yellow line on your side of the centerline means:
Solid yellow lines on two-lane roads indicate zones where passing is prohibited. If a solid yellow line appears next to a broken yellow line, drivers in the lane nearest to the solid yellow line may not pass. In some instances, both yellow lines will be solid, indicating that it is not safe to pass from either direction.
22 . Using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle is considered a distraction because:
Using a cell phone while driving is dangerous because it occupies the user's eyes, hands, and mind. Even the most skilled drivers increase their risk of being involved in a crash by using a cell phone on the road.
23 . This road sign means:
Warning signs provide notice to road users of a situation that might not be readily apparent and are usually yellow with black markings. This sign alerts drivers to the right lane ending and tells them to prepare for potential merging traffic.
24 . This sign means:
This sign warns a driver of a change in direction or a narrowing of the road. A driver may find several of these signs on the outside of a sharp curve or on approaches to a narrow bridge.
