FREE Kentucky DMV Practice Test #16
The DMV practise tests in Kentucky have been updated for January 2025. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2025 from the KentuckyDriver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Kentucky DMV test.
You must properly answer 32 of the 40 questions to receive a passing mark. To help you prepare for your Kentucky instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
1 . If you find yourself driving alongside another vehicle on a multilane road, you should:
Avoid driving directly alongside other vehicles on multilane roadways. The other driver may not be able to see you and may pull into your vehicle when trying to change lanes. Move ahead or drop back when you are driving in another vehicle's blind spot.
2 . Yellow lines separate:
Yellow lines mark the center of a road used for two-way traffic. A solid yellow centerline indicates that drivers may not cross the line to pass. A broken yellow centerline indicates that drivers may cross the line to pass, but only if passing would not interfere with traffic.
3 . A blood alcohol concentration of 0.02 percent:
Every 0.02 percent increase in blood alcohol concentration nearly doubles a driver's risk of being in a fatal crash.
4 . If you approach a traffic light with a red signal and a police officer directs you to go through the intersection without stopping, you should:
Instructions given by police officers directing traffic always override posted traffic signals and signs. Follow the officer's instructions.
5 . A distraction when driving is:
A distraction when driving is anything that takes your attention away from driving. Driver distractions may occur anytime and anywhere. Distracted driving can cause collisions, resulting in property damage, injury, and death.
6 . You must obey instructions from school crossing guards:
Drivers should be alert to the presence of crossing guards when near a school and must always obey their instructions.
7 . When changing lanes:
When changing lanes, glance over your shoulder to check for traffic in your blind spot. You may need to look several times before changing lanes. You must keep track of what traffic is doing in front of you as well as what traffic is doing in the lane next to you.
8 . A flashing red traffic light at an intersection means:
A flashing red light at an intersection means drivers are required to come to a complete stop, yield to traffic and pedestrians, and proceed when the way is clear. The same is true at a stop sign.
