FREE Texas DMV Practice Test #15 Page 3 of 5
For January 2025, the Texas DMV practise exams have been revised. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2025 from the Texas Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Texas DMV test.
You must properly answer 21 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.

This sign warns of an upcoming winding road with three or more curves.
14 . To change lanes you should:
Before changing lanes, you should activate your turn signal in the appropriate direction and check your rearview and side mirrors. Look over your shoulder in the direction you plan to move in order to check your blind spot and check the far lane to be sure no one else is trying to enter the same lane as you. Change lanes when you are sure it is safe to do so.
15 . If an approaching train is near enough or going fast enough to be a danger, you must:
You should look and listen for trains before crossing any railroad tracks. If an approaching train is near enough or going fast enough to be a danger, you cannot go across the tracks. This is true even if they have no signals or the signals are not working.
16 . Shared lanes may be used by:
Shared lanes are intended for use by bicyclists. They assist bicyclists with lateral position in lanes too narrow for a motor vehicle and a bicycle to travel side by side within the same traffic lane. Shared lanes also alert road users to the location bicyclists are likely to occupy.
17 . A pedestrian starts to cross in front of your vehicle. You should:
Slow down and be prepared to stop whenever you see pedestrians walking on or crossing the roadway. Be particularly careful where children are present. Always yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing in a crosswalk.
18 . When driving at speeds faster than 30 mph, keep a minimum following distance of:
The more distance between your vehicle and others, the more time you will have to react if another driver makes a mistake. Keep a minimum following distance of four seconds when driving faster than 30 mph, under normal conditions.
