FREE Tennessee DMV Practice Test #22 Page 3 of 4
The Tennessee DMV practise exams for January 2024 have been updated. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the Tennessee Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Tennessee DMV test.
You must properly answer 24 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the Tennessee Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
17 . Excessive speed:
Excessive speed is one of the most common contributing factors to vehicle crashes. Excessive speed does not save time and often leads to high-risk decision-making.
18 . Give the right-of-way to any pedestrian who is:
Drivers must yield the right-of-way to pedestrians who are crossing the street in any marked or unmarked crosswalk. In the interest of safety, drivers should yield the right-of-way to people crossing any street.
19 . Should you always drive more slowly than other traffic?
You must drive more slowly than usual when there is heavy traffic or bad weather. However, if you block the normal and reasonable movement of traffic by driving too slowly, you may be cited.
20 . When driving on the highway, consistently looking far ahead of your vehicle:
To avoid the need for last-minute braking or turning, consistently watch the road far ahead of your vehicle. By looking ahead and being ready to stop or change lanes if needed, you can drive more safely, save fuel, and help keep traffic moving at a steady pace.
21 . What message will be found on this yellow pennant-shaped sign?
Pennant-shaped yellow signs like this are used to indicate a no passing zone.
22 . If the rear of your vehicle is skidding to the left, you should:
If you begin to skid on a wet or icy road, take your foot off the accelerator, stay off the brakes, and turn your steering wheel in the direction of the skid. However, if you have anti-lock brakes, you should apply your brakes firmly and steer straight ahead.
23 . You have allowed the wheels of your vehicle to run off the edge of the pavement. What should you do first?
If your vehicle leaves the roadway, hold the steering wheel firmly, release the gas pedal, and gently apply the brakes. Wait until your speed has reduced, check the traffic, and look for a place to safely return to the roadway by merging back into traffic. Overcompensating by jerking the wheel to return to the roadway can cause you to lose control of your vehicle or may cause your car to go into other lanes of traffic.
24 . If it feels like your tires have lost contact with the surface of the road, you should:
If it feels like your tires have lost contact with the surface of the road, you should ease your foot off the gas pedal and stay off the brakes. Do not try to stop or turn until your tires are gripping the road again.
