FREE Tennessee DMV Practice Test #20
The Tennessee DMV practise exams for January 2024 have been updated. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the Tennessee Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Tennessee DMV test.
You must properly answer 24 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the Tennessee Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
1 . You should yield to a pedestrian:
Always be aware of pedestrians near your vehicle. You must do everything you can to prevent striking a pedestrian, regardless of the circumstances.
2 . When entering the interstate, check for a gap in traffic in the nearest lane, adjust your speed to match traffic, signal, and:
Before merging into interstate traffic, you should identify a gap, accelerate to the speed of traffic, and signal. Merge into the gap when it is safe to do so. Be alert to other traffic and do not expect other drivers to clear the lane.
3 . You enter a designated turn lane to make a left turn at an upcoming intersection. There is oncoming traffic. You should:
When making a left turn, you should always begin signaling about 100 feet before the turn. You should keep your front wheels aiming straight ahead until it is safe to start your turn. This ensures that you will not be pushed into oncoming traffic if another vehicle hits you from behind.
4 . This sign shows one type of:
Warning signs are usually yellow with black markings. They alert you to conditions that are immediately ahead. This sign warns drivers that another road crosses the highway ahead.
5 . If you see a sign over your lane that has an arrow with the word "only" below it, you should:
This is an example of a lane control sign. It indicates that you must move in the direction indicated by the arrow (in this case, to the left).
6 . You are driving on the freeway. The vehicle in front of you is a large truck. You should drive:
When you follow so closely behind a truck that you cannot see the truck driver’s side view mirrors, the trucker cannot see you and has no way of knowing you are there. Tailgating a truck, or any vehicle, is dangerous because you take away your own cushion of safety if the vehicle in front of you stops quickly.
7 . An orange and red triangular sign on a vehicle always means:
Slow-moving vehicles, such as farm tractors, road maintenance vehicles, and animal-drawn carts, display an orange and red triangle on the back.
8 . If a vehicle is equipped with airbags:
Airbags are important safety devices that provide protection in crashes. For best protection, a vehicle's lap and shoulder belts should be used in combination with airbags.
