FREE Pennsylvania DMV Practice Test #24 Page 2 of 3
The Pennsylvania DMV practise examinations have been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the Pennsylvania Driver Handbook's most essential traffic signals and regulations for 2024. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
On the practise exam, each question gets a tip and explanation to help you remember the concepts. The written component of the official Pennsylvania DMV test will feature questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook.
To obtain a passing grade, you must correctly answer 15 of the 18 questions. Use the practise exam provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Motor Vehicles to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is available in several languages.
Using any kind of testing assistance will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so stay away from it.
7 . If you stop at a railroad crossing with more than one track:
If you are stopped at a railroad crossing with more than one track, do not start moving as soon as a train passes. Wait until you have a clear view down all tracks before you start across. Even where there is only one track, do not start across immediately after a train passes; check again for another train that may be approaching.
8 . You must use your headlights when other vehicles are not visible from ____ feet away.
State law requires you to use your headlights any time you cannot see pedestrians or other vehicles on the highway for a distance of 1,000 feet ahead of your vehicle.
9 . Your brake lights tell other drivers that you:
Your vehicle's brake lights indicate to other drivers that you are slowing down or stopping. Your brake lights should always be in working order when you are driving on any roadway.
10 . At night, it is hardest to see:
Compared to signs and other roadside objects, pedestrians are hardest to see at night.
11 . This sign tells you that:
This sign warns of an upcoming winding road with three or more curves.
12 . If an oncoming driver is heading toward you in your lane, you should:
If another vehicle is approaching you head-on in your lane, you should first honk your horn to attract attention. If the other driver does not move over, try to escape to the right. If you swerve left and the other driver corrects at the last instant, you will still crash. If a collision is unavoidable, brake firmly and steadily. Every mile per hour you slow down will reduce the impact.
