FREE North Dakota DMV Practice Test #16 Page 4 of 4
North Dakota's DMV practise examinations have been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the North Dakota Driver Handbook's most essential traffic signals and regulations for 2024. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
On the practise exam, each question gets a tip and explanation to help you remember the concepts. The written component of the official North Dakota DMV test will include questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook.
To obtain a passing grade, you must correctly answer 20 of the 25 questions. Take this practise test from the North Dakota Department of Motor Vehicles to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is available in several languages.
Using any kind of testing assistance will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so stay away from it.
19 . Unless otherwise posted, the maximum speed limit on a rural interstate highway is:
Maximum speed limits indicate the fastest speed a driver may legally drive under ideal conditions. When driving on a rural interstate highway, the maximum speed limit is 75 miles per hour. If a different speed limit is posted, follow the posted limit.
20 . When you hear the siren or see the flashing lights of an approaching emergency vehicle, you must:
Yield the right-of-way to any approaching emergency vehicle that is using its flashing lights or siren, regardless of its direction of travel. You must immediately drive to the right side of the road and stop until the emergency vehicle has passed. If you are within an intersection, pass through the intersection before coming to a stop on the right side of the road.
21 . If you need to drive in foggy weather:
You are required to use your headlights during the day when visibility is reduced to 500 feet or less. When you first turn on your headlights, be sure they are adjusted to the low beam setting. Using high beams in fog or rain will cause the light to reflect back into your eyes, lowering visibility even more.
22 . This road sign means:
This one-way sign indicates that traffic flows only in the direction of the arrow.
23 . If you are stopped by a police officer, you should:
If you are stopped by the police, keep your hands on the wheel and ask any passengers to keep their hands in view as well. You should remain in the vehicle unless the police officer asks you to get out. Wait until the officer asks you to retrieve your driver license, registration, and insurance cards.
24 . When making a turn, you must ____ your speed.
When turning, you should reduce to a speed that allows you to maintain control of your vehicle, stay in your lane, and react to unexpected situations.
25 . When you park uphill on a street with a curb:
When parking on an incline where there is a curb, you should turn your wheels sharply to the left, away from the curb. This way, if your brakes fail, your vehicle will not roll into traffic.
