FREE North Dakota DMV Practice Test #16
North Dakota's DMV practise examinations have been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the North Dakota Driver Handbook's most essential traffic signals and regulations for 2024. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
On the practise exam, each question gets a tip and explanation to help you remember the concepts. The written component of the official North Dakota DMV test will include questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook.
To obtain a passing grade, you must correctly answer 20 of the 25 questions. Take this practise test from the North Dakota Department of Motor Vehicles to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is available in several languages.
Using any kind of testing assistance will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so stay away from it.
1 . Which of the following is true regarding seat belts and child restraints in vehicles?
Before you drive, always fasten your seat belt and make sure all your passengers are using seat belts or child restraints. Studies have shown that if you use seat belts, your chances of being hurt or killed in a traffic crash are greatly reduced. Children age 12 and under should always ride properly restrained in a rear seat. Never put a rear-facing infant restraint in the front seat of a vehicle with a front passenger airbag.
2 . What can you do to avoid the need to make emergency stops while driving in traffic?
Keeping a safe following distance will enable you to react to an upcoming problem without the need for a emergency stop, which could cause a driver behind you to crash into the back of your vehicle.
3 . You are driving along a street and hear a siren. You cannot immediately see the emergency vehicle. You should:
If you hear a siren or an air horn close by but do not know exactly where the emergency vehicle is, safely pull over to the right side of the road and stop until you are sure it is not headed toward you.
4 . If you are involved in a serious motor vehicle crash:
If you are involved in a crash, move your vehicle off of the road and stop, if possible. If anyone is injured, call 911 and provide appropriate help. You must report the crash to law enforcement if there is an injury, a death, and/or more than $1,000 in property damage (or more than $200 worth of damage made to non-vehicle government property, such as signs or guardrails).
5 . Traffic signals sometimes display arrows to control turns from specific lanes. A solid red arrow:
A solid red arrow in a traffic signal means the same thing as a circular red traffic light. When an arrow is red, traffic in the indicated lane must stop and may not turn in the direction that the arrow is pointing.
6 . If an officer is directing traffic at a working traffic light, drivers should:
Traffic signals are placed at intersections to keep traffic moving and to help prevent crashes. Drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists must obey these signals, except in instances when an officer is directing traffic.
