FREE Iowa DMV Practice Test #6
The DMV practise tests in Iowa have been updated for January 2024. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signals and legislation for 2024 from the Iowa Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Iowa DMV test.
You must properly answer 28 of the 35 questions to receive a passing mark. To help you prepare for your Iowa instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
1 . This sign means:
Come to a full stop at an intersection controlled by this sign. Stop at the marked stop line or before entering the crosswalk or intersection. Let other vehicles or pedestrians pass if they are in your path, then proceed.
2 . This sign means:
Warning signs are usually yellow with black markings. They alert you to conditions that are immediately ahead. This sign warns that you are leaving a separated one-way highway and will soon be driving on a two-way highway.
3 . The sign with this shape and color is a ____ sign.
Pennant-shaped warning signs like this are only used to indicate a no passing zone.
4 . You should yield to a pedestrian:
Always be aware of pedestrians near your vehicle. You must do everything you can to prevent striking a pedestrian, regardless of the circumstances.
5 . A flashing red traffic light at an intersection means:
If you approach a flashing red light, treat it the same as you would a stop sign. Come to a complete stop, yield the right-of-way when necessary, and proceed when it is safe to do so.
6 . Drinking coffee after drinking alcohol:
Drinking coffee will not reduce your blood alcohol concentration (BAC). While it may help you to stay awake, it cannot change your BAC or make you sober.
7 . When changing lanes, you should:
Other cars and motorcycles are often hidden in a vehicle’s blind spot, so be sure to glance over your shoulder before you begin a lane change. Begin signaling 100 feet before changing lanes or turning in a residential area. Signal five seconds in advance when changing lanes on a freeway.
8 . At intersections with a "Yield" sign, you must:
At a yield sign, you must slow down or stop, if necessary, and give the right-of-way to crossing or merging vehicles. Yield the right-of-way to any cross traffic that is close enough to cause conflict.
