FREE Hawaii DMV Practice Test | Driving License Permit test Hawaii 2024 #22 Page 3 of 5
This set of practise tests for the Hawaii DMV has been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signs and legislation for 2024 from the Hawaii Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.
You must properly answer 24 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. To help you prepare for your Hawaii instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
13 . Having a few drinks before driving home after work:
Driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol is prohibited in Hawaii. Alcohol slows normal reflexes, interferes with judgment, reduces alertness, and impairs vision. If you feel stimulated after drinking, it is simply because your inhibitions are lowered, causing a loss of caution and self-control. It is safest to refrain from driving when you have consumed any quantity of alcohol.
14 . A leaky exhaust system in your vehicle is dangerous because it can cause:
The exhaust system carries exhaust gas out of the vehicle and prevents fumes from entering into the passenger compartment. To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, keep your exhaust system free of leaks. Replace all defective parts immediately.
15 . Two solid white lines painted across a traffic lane show the boundaries of a crosswalk. As a driver, you should know that:
Crosswalk lines show pedestrians where to safely cross a road or street. Crosswalks may be marked by horizontal lines, vertical lines, or a combination of the two. You must always stop for pedestrians who are in a crosswalk.
16 . When driving near heavy trucks, other drivers and highway users must make allowances for:
When driving near heavy trucks, other drivers and highway users must make allowances for the increased stopping distance required by the large vehicles. Drivers of smaller vehicles should remain in locations where they can be seen by the driver of the large vehicle and where their view of traffic is not blocked by the vehicle.
17 . Which is the most common cause of traffic crashes?
Crashes often occur when one driver does not see another vehicle or when a driver does something unexpected. Communicate with other drivers on the road to help prevent traffic crashes.
18 . What does this road sign mean?
A stop sign means that you must come to a full stop and yield the right-of-way to vehicles and pedestrians in or heading toward the intersection. Go again when it is safe.
