FREE District Of Columbia DMV Practice Test #16 Page 2 of 3
This set of District Of Columbia DMV practise tests was been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the District Of Columbia Driver Handbook's most significant traffic signs and laws for 2024. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
On the practise exam, each question gets a tip and explanation to help you remember the concepts. The written component of the official DMV test will include questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook.
To achieve the required passing grade, you must correctly answer 20 of the 25 questions. Take our DMV practise exam to help you prepare for your District Of Columbia instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is available in several languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
9 . If weather or light conditions require you to have your lights on while driving:

Yellow lines separate traffic moving in opposite directions. Dashed lines on the pavement indicate that passing is permitted when safe.
11 . You are driving behind a motorcycle and want to pass. You must:

12 . Increase your following distance when:
You should increase your following distance when you are behind a large vehicle that blocks your vision, when driving in bad weather or heavy traffic, when exiting an expressway, when behind a motorcycle or bicycle, and if someone is tailgating you.
13 . In which of the following ways can alcoholic beverages affect you?
Alcohol dulls the parts of your brain that control inhibition, judgment, and self-control. As a result, you may feel stimulated, lively, and a bit giddy or foolish after consuming alcohol. Alcohol also impairs your reaction time, coordination, and balance. Your vision and ability to judge distance suffers after alcohol consumption, making it difficult to react to your surroundings.
14 . While obtaining your driver license, you may:
If you are 18 years of age or older, you may choose to become an organ and tissue donor when obtaining your driver license. If you are a male between the ages 18 and 25, the DC DMV will register you with Selective Service unless you use a waiver form to opt out. If you are a citizen of the United States who will be at least 18 years of age by the time of the next election, you may register to vote or update your registration.
15 . This white sign means you should not pass other vehicles:
A white rectangular sign indicates that you must obey the stated rule. This sign means that drivers should not pass other vehicles for any reason.
16 . When driving in fog, you should:
When driving in fog, you should slow down and use your low beam headlights. If the fog is so bad that you cannot see, pull off the road and wait for the fog to clear.
