FREE Delaware DMV Practice Test #22 Page 3 of 4
This set of DMV practise tests for Delaware was just updated for January 2024. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signs and rules for 2024 from the Delaware Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about road laws, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.
You must properly answer 20 of the 25 questions to receive the required passing mark. To help you prepare for your Delaware instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any kind of testing assistance will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so stay away from it.
17 . This sign tells you that:
Warning signs are usually yellow with black markings. They alert you to conditions that are immediately ahead. This sign warns drivers about an upcoming winding road.
18 . You are driving on the freeway. The vehicle in front of you is a large truck. You should drive:
When you follow so closely behind a truck that you cannot see the truck driver’s side view mirrors, the trucker cannot see you and has no way of knowing you are there. Tailgating a truck, or any vehicle, is dangerous because you take away your own cushion of safety if the vehicle in front of you stops quickly.
19 . This sign means:
This sign warns of a dangerous downgrade or hill ahead. The hill may be very long or steep, or it may have sharp curves.
20 . What is a potential effect of taking a prescription drug while drinking alcohol?
Legal medications, both prescription and over-the-counter, can impair your ability to drive. They can be particularly dangerous when used in combination with alcohol.
21 . Children on bicycles should be given extra space by motor vehicle operators because:
Children are often the least predictable pedestrians and the most difficult pedestrians to see. Take extra care to look out for children, especially near schools, bus stops, playgrounds, parks, and ice cream trucks. Be aware of children riding bikes on the sidewalk, as they may come onto the road unexpectedly.
22 . When you want to change lanes, you should never:
You should never change lanes within an intersection. Before changing lanes, always look over your shoulder to check your blind spot. Be alert to other drivers moving into the same lane.
23 . To know where traffic is behind you:
Drivers should check their rearview mirrors often to stay aware of the position of traffic behind them.
24 . When driving in fog or mist, never put your headlights on the high beam setting because:
In foggy or misty conditions, you should not use your headlights on their high beam setting because the light will be reflected back into your eyes.
