FREE Connecticut DMV Practice Test #8 Page 2 of 3
This set of Connecticut DMV practise tests was just updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the Connecticut Driver Handbook's most essential traffic signs and regulations for 2024. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each practise test question has a hint and explanation to assist you in remembering the concepts. The written component of the official DMV test will include questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook.
To achieve the required passing grade, you must correctly answer 20 of the 25 questions. Take our DMV practise exam to help you prepare for your Connecticut instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is available in several languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
9 . If you have trouble seeing other vehicles because of dust or smoke blowing across the roadway, you should drive more slowly and turn on your:
You must turn on your headlights any time conditions prevent you from seeing other vehicles. Other drivers may have trouble seeing you, too.
10 . You may be able to identify an aggressive driver by:
While driving, you should remain aware of the actions of surrounding drivers. If you notice an aggressive driver nearby making erratic or improper lane changes, you should not challenge them. The safest way to handle an aggressive driver is to get out of their way.
11 . You have allowed the wheels of your vehicle to run off the edge of the pavement. What should you do first?
If your vehicle leaves the roadway, hold the steering wheel firmly, release the gas pedal, and gently apply the brakes. Wait until your speed has reduced, check the traffic, and look for a place to safely return to the roadway by merging back into traffic. Overcompensating by jerking the wheel to return to the roadway can cause you to lose control of your vehicle or may cause your car to go into other lanes of traffic.
12 . If you are arrested for a first time DUI offense and you refuse to take a breath test, your license will be suspended for at least:
If you refuse to take a test to determine your blood alcohol content (BAC), your operator’s license will be suspended for at least 45 days. You will be required to install and maintain an ignition interlock device (IID) as a condition of reinstatement.
13 . To avoid hydroplaning while driving in rainy conditions, you should:
When driving too quickly in wet conditions, your tires may lose all contact with the road surface. Loss of traction will cause the vehicle to ride on top of the water, which is called "hydroplaning." The best way to prevent this from happening is to drive more slowly in rainy or wet conditions than you would when driving during ideal weather conditions.
14 . It is more dangerous to drive at night than during the day because:
With decreased visibility and the glare of oncoming headlights, you cannot see as far ahead at night as you can during the day. Always use headlights and exercise caution when driving in the dark.
15 . If your vehicle begins to skid, you should:
If your vehicle begins to skid, release the accelerator or brake pedal to regain vehicle balance. Steer in the direction of the skid to regain control of the vehicle.
16 . You may not park within how many feet of a fire hydrant?
There are many areas where you cannot park. Do not park within 10 feet of a fire hydrant at any time.
