FREE Alabama DMV Practice Test #2 Page 5 of 5
This Alabama DMV practise tests for January 2024 was just updated. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signs and restrictions from the official Alabama Driver Handbook for 2024. To prepare for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use authentic questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each practise test question contains a tip and explanation to help you remember the concepts. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.
You must properly answer 32 out of 40 questions to receive the required passing score. To help you prepare for your Alabama instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise exam.
The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.
Using any kind of testing assistance during the test will result in an automatic failure, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.

Pedestrians have the right-of-way at street crossings but must obey traffic control signals. Where a traffic signal is not present, vehicles must stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk, whether it is marked or unmarked.
34 . Which of the following statements about blind spots is true?
Blind spots are areas that a driver cannot see if they look in their mirrors. Large trucks have large blind spots that drivers of other vehicles should avoid.
35 . Stopping distances and severity of crashes:
Stopping distances are longer and crashes are more severe when traffic travels at higher speeds.
36 . When you are merging onto the freeway, you should be driving:
When merging onto a freeway, you should enter at or near the speed of traffic.
37 . Posters and signs on car windows:
Obstructions on windows are prohibited by state law. No sign, poster, or other material may be placed on any window of a vehicle if it obstructs a driver’s clear view of the roadway.
38 . What should you do when approaching a pedestrian who is being led by a guide dog or using a white cane?
The law requires you to stop and yield the right-of-way at any intersection to a blind person who is using a guide dog or carrying a white cane tipped with red. Allow them to safely cross the intersection before proceeding.
39 . A large truck is ahead of you and is turning right onto a street with two lanes in each direction. The truck:
When a vehicle makes a turn, the rear wheels follow a shorter path than the front wheels. The longer the vehicle, the bigger the difference between the paths of the front and rear wheels. Therefore, long trucks often have to swing wide to complete a right turn.
40 . If a tire suddenly blows out while you are driving, you should:
If you experience a sudden tire blowout, do not panic. Grasp the steering wheel firmly and take your foot off the accelerator to allow the vehicle to roll to a stop. Lightly apply the breaks when it is safe to do so. Do not move to the shoulder of the road until the car has slowed considerably.
