FREE Virginia DMV Practice Test #11 Page 3 of 5
The practise exams for the Virginia DMV have been updated for January 2025. It comprises questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2025 from the Virginia Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official Virginia DMV test.
You must properly answer 30 of the 35 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
17 . If two drivers arrive at the same time to a four-way intersection controlled by stop signs:
Yield the right-of-way to the driver on your right at a four-way intersection if you both arrive to the intersection at the same time. You may then proceed when it is safe to do so.
18 . Turn signals or hand signals should be used when:
You should use a turn signal any time that you plan to change lanes, turn, or enter or exit a highway.
19 . Your tire blows out while you are driving. You should:
If you experience a tire blowout, do not immediately apply the brakes. Grip the steering wheel firmly and steer to remain in your traffic lane. Reduce your speed gradually by releasing the accelerator and staying off the brakes. Once you are moving very slowly, apply the brakes lightly and pull off the road into a safe area.
20 . If another driver cuts you off in traffic, you should:
To avoid the dangers of road rage, you should never take it personally if another driver cuts you off in traffic. Just let it go and continue driving safely.
21 . If your vehicle is equipped with airbags, you should:
If your vehicle is equipped with airbags, you should still buckle up and make sure that your passengers do the same. You should move your seat back so that you are at least 10 inches from the steering wheel. If possible, tilt the wheel downward so that it points toward your chest instead of toward your head and neck.
22 . The speed limit in residential zones is:
Unless posted otherwise, the speed limit for passenger vehicles and motorcycles in a residential, school, or business zone is 25 mph.
