FREE South Carolina DMV Practice Test #24 Page 4 of 4
The DMV practise exams in South Carolina have been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the South Carolina Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official South Carolina DMV test.
You must properly answer 24 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
24 . Drivers may not pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing.
When approaching a school bus that is using its flashing red lights, you must stop before you reach the bus and remain stopped until the flashing lights are turned off. On a two-way multilane roadway with a median or shared center lane, vehicles on the opposite side of the road from the school bus do not have to stop.

26 . Who must yield when a driver is turning and a pedestrian is crossing without a traffic light?
Drivers must yield to pedestrians when they are crossing at any intersection without a traffic light, whether or not there is a crosswalk.
27 . A driver can legally pass on the right side of another vehicle:
If there is an available passing lane, you may pass on the right of a vehicle or bicycle that is turning left or waiting to turn left. It is also legal to pass on the right when driving on a multilane road with two or more lanes traveling in the same direction. You may never drive off the pavement or main-traveled portion of the road to pass another vehicle.
28 . Which of the following is against the law and is punishable by imprisonment and/or fines?
The legal maximum speed limit is the absolute limit to how fast you may drive. Participating in or assisting a race on a public highway can be punished by a fine and/or imprisonment.
29 . A U-turn is not permitted:
You must never turn around while on or near any curve or hill. You may not be able to see oncoming traffic or pedestrians and may cause a collision.
30 . You have stopped for a train at a railroad crossing. After the train passes, you should:
Even after a train passes, watch out for a second train approaching on any track. Do not proceed until all gates have been lifted and all warning signals have stopped flashing.
