FREE South Carolina DMV Practice Test #23 Page 4 of 4
The DMV practise exams in South Carolina have been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the South Carolina Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official South Carolina DMV test.
You must properly answer 24 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
24 . A single broken white line down the center of a two-lane road indicates:
White lines are used to separate traffic moving in the same direction. Dashed lines indicate that drivers directly next to the line are permitted to pass when it is safe to do so.
25 . When a stop line is present at a stop sign, drivers must stop:
At an intersection with a stop line, you must stop before reaching the stop line or crosswalk. Proceed when the way is clear.
26 . To pass a slower-moving vehicle on a two-lane, two-way road, you must:
Passing on a two-lane, two-way road requires good judgment because you must use the lane belonging to oncoming traffic to complete your pass. Only pass if you may safely and legally do so.
27 . When turning or changing lanes, you must:
Always signal your intentions when changing lanes, turning, or pulling away from a curb. Do not allow yourself to become lazy and form the bad habit of not following this law.
28 . If you park facing uphill where there is no curb, set the parking brake and:
When parking uphill on a road that does not have a curb, your front wheels should be turned to the right (toward the edge of the road). This will ensure that the vehicle will roll off of the road if the brakes fail.
29 . There are oncoming vehicles to your left and a row of parked vehicles to your right. You should steer:
If there are oncoming vehicles to your left and a row of parked vehicles to your right, the best thing to do is to split the difference. Steer a middle course between the oncoming cars and the parked cars.
30 . A motorist making a left turn at an intersection must yield the right-of-way to a bicyclist entering the intersection from the opposite direction.
When turning left at an intersection, you must yield to oncoming bicycles in the same manner that you would yield to oncoming motor vehicles. Keep your wheels straight while waiting to turn and proceed when the way is clear of traffic and pedestrians.
