FREE South Carolina DMV Practice Test #15 Page 2 of 4
The DMV practise exams in South Carolina have been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the South Carolina Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official South Carolina DMV test.
You must properly answer 24 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
9 . When approaching a four-way stop, drivers must yield the right-of-way to all motorists who arrived before them.
At a four-way stop, you must yield the right-of-way to drivers who arrived before you. Wait your turn to enter the intersection.
10 . If you see this sign, you:
Regulatory signs are white, rectangular signs with black markings. Drivers must obey the instructions posted on all regulatory signs. Where this sign is posted, it is prohibited for drivers to pass one another.
11 . Which of these is a safe driving technique?
To stay aware of hazards, you should scan the road and check your rearview mirrors every two to five seconds. Constantly staring at just the road ahead of you is dangerous. If you must drive in foggy conditions, you should use your low beam headlights, not your high beam headlights.
12 . Driving at night requires increased caution because:
Because it is dark, drivers cannot see as well at night as they can during the day. From one half hour after sunset until one half hour before sunrise, or at any other time when persons or vehicles are not visible for 500 feet, drivers must use their headlights.
13 . Which statement is true?
You must always stop on a two-lane road for a school bus that has its red or amber signal lights flashing as it is stopped to unload passengers. On a road with four or more lanes, you do not need to stop if the stopped bus is on the opposite side of the road. You do not need to stop if the bus is in a passenger loading zone that is completely off the main road.
14 . Which of the following statements is true?
Trucks have large blind spots that start behind the cab and extend for the length of the truck. Because the truck driver will not be able to see you, you should avoid driving beside or behind a large vehicle for long periods of time.
15 . Yield also means stop if you cannot merge safely into the flow of traffic.
In a situation requiring you to yield the right-of-way, you must also stop if you cannot merge safely into the flow of traffic.
16 . What should you be most concerned about when you see this sign?
This sign indicates that the shoulder is lower than the road in the area ahead. If you drift off of the roadway and one wheel drops onto a low shoulder, do not slam on the brakes or steer sharply to try to get back onto the roadway. This could easily cause you to lose control of your vehicle.
