FREE South Carolina DMV Practice Test #14 Page 2 of 4
The DMV practise exams in South Carolina have been updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signals and laws for 2024 from the South Carolina Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each question on the practise exam has a tip and explanation to help you recall the ideas. Questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official South Carolina DMV test.
You must properly answer 24 of the 30 questions to receive a passing mark. Use the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles' practise exam to help you prepare for your instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is offered in a variety of languages.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.

South Carolina has an implied consent law. This means that by driving in the state, you give your consent to take a chemical test for intoxication, if called upon to do so.
11 . What is the only medically proven method of removing alcohol or other drug combinations from your system?
Alcohol takes effect quickly and is slow to leave your system. Cold showers, black coffee, and exercise will do nothing to reduce a person's blood alcohol content (BAC). The only way to lower your BAC is to wait.
12 . Always signal when:
Always use the proper turn signal when changing lanes, pulling into or out of a parking space, or pulling into traffic from an alley or parking area. Communicate with other drivers on the road to help prevent accidents.
13 . If you want to enter the freeway but you don't see a gap in traffic, you should:
If you want to enter the freeway but do not see a space for your vehicle in traffic, slow down on the ramp to wait for a gap. Do not drive to the end of the ramp and wait for a gap or you will not have enough room to accelerate to the speed of traffic before entering the roadway.
14 . You are driving in the left lane and want to move into the right lane. You should:
When changing lanes, you should check your vehicle's blind spots by looking over your shoulder in the direction that you want to move. Always check your mirrors and turn on your directional signal before beginning a lane change.
15 . It is more dangerous to drive at night than during the day because:
With decreased visibility and the glare of oncoming headlights, you cannot see as far ahead at night as you can during the day. Always use headlights and exercise caution when driving in the dark.
16 . You are waiting to turn left at a multilane intersection and opposing traffic is blocking your view. You should:
You should never start a left turn until you can see that all the lanes you need to cross are clear and that you can safely make the turn.
