FREE Louisiana DMV Practice Test #6 Page 3 of 5
Louisiana's DMV practise tests have been revised for January 2024. It includes questions based on the Louisiana Driver Handbook's most significant traffic signals and legislation for 2024. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
On the practise exam, each question gets a tip and explanation to help you remember the concepts. The written component of the official Louisiana DMV test will include questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook.
To obtain a passing grade, you must correctly answer 32 of the 40 questions. Take our DMV practise exam to help you prepare for your Louisiana instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is available in several languages.
Using any kind of testing assistance will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so stay away from it.
17 . When you are in a line of traffic that is crossing a railroad track that has no signals or gates:
If you are following another vehicle at a railroad crossing, check to make sure you have enough room to get all the way across before you drive onto the tracks. You should never try to pass another vehicle as you approach or cross a railroad crossing. Always check for trains before crossing any railroad tracks.
18 . Which of the following lights indicates that you should slow down and proceed with caution at an intersection?
A flashing yellow traffic light at an intersection indicates that drivers must slow down, proceed with caution, and be prepared to stop.
19 . Is it legal cross a double solid yellow centerline to pass?
Two solid yellow lines down the center of a two-way road mean that neither lane of traffic may cross the lines, unless they are turning off of the roadway. A driver can cross double yellow lines when turning into or out of a driveway or entrance to a business. No passing is allowed over a solid yellow line.
20 . If you are driving so slowly that traffic is backing up behind you, you should:
Driving more slowly than the flow of traffic can be hazardous. If you are on a two-lane, two-way road and driving so slowly that traffic is backing up behind you, you are required to pull off the road and let the other vehicles pass. Only drive significantly under the speed limit when conditions require it.
21 . When parking your vehicle downhill on a two-way street:
When you park on a downward-facing slope, turn your wheels sharply toward the side of the road. This way, if your vehicle starts to roll downhill, it will roll away from traffic.
22 . What is the meaning of the "D" in the SIPDE acronym?
The "D" in the SIPDE acronym stands for "Decide on a safe action." Decide on the safest action to take when an unexpected hazard appears.
23 . Anything that requires you to ____ could cause you to crash.
Anything that causes you to take your attention away from driving, take your eyes off the road, and/or take your hands off the wheel is a distraction.
24 . When approaching a railroad crossing, you should:
When you see any signs indicating a nearby railroad crossing, you should slow down, look for a train, and be ready to stop. If the red warning lights are flashing or the gate is down, you must stop 15 to 50 feet before the railroad tracks. Do not try to go around the gate.
