FREE Louisiana DMV Practice Test #22 Page 3 of 5
Louisiana's DMV practise tests have been revised for January 2024. It includes questions based on the Louisiana Driver Handbook's most significant traffic signals and legislation for 2024. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
On the practise exam, each question gets a tip and explanation to help you remember the concepts. The written component of the official Louisiana DMV test will include questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook.
To obtain a passing grade, you must correctly answer 32 of the 40 questions. Take our DMV practise exam to help you prepare for your Louisiana instruction permit or driver's licence.
The DMV exam is available in several languages.
Using any kind of testing assistance will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so stay away from it.
17 . When passing a parked vehicle, you should:
Keep a space between your vehicle and parked vehicles. Someone may step out of a parked vehicle, out from between the parked vehicles, or a vehicle may start to pull out suddenly.
18 . You are driving when your power steering stops working. You should:
If your power steering stops working, additional effort will be required to maintain steering control. Reduce your speed and pull off the roadway to stop in a safe area.
19 . Your chances of being killed are ____ times greater if you are thrown from your car during an accident.
Wearing your seat belt is the smartest move you can make to prevent injury or death in the case of a collision. Your chances of being killed are 25 times greater if you’re thrown from the car in a crash.
20 . The most effective safety restraints in a traffic crash are:
Safety belts can double your chance of surviving a crash and more than double your chance of avoiding serious injury. Airbags, when used properly with safety belts, provide additional protection in a front-end crash. You should wear both shoulder and lap belts.
21 . If two drivers arrive at the same time to a four-way intersection controlled by stop signs:
Yield the right-of-way to the driver on your right at a four-way intersection if you both arrive to the intersection at the same time. You may then proceed when it is safe to do so.
22 . When passing other vehicles:
Before passing another vehicle, check your mirrors and blind spots. Before changing lanes, activate the appropriate turn signal. Re-enter the lane when you can see the front of the passed vehicle in your rearview mirror.
23 . When you are being tailgated:
If you are being tailgated by another driver and there is a right lane, move over to the right. If there is no right lane, wait until the road ahead is clear and then reduce your speed slowly. This will encourage the tailgater to drive around you. Never slow down abruptly as this will only increase the risk of your vehicle being hit from behind.
24 . Which is a characteristic of a defensive driver?
A defensive driver tries to predict possible danger and is prepared to act accordingly. Good defensive drivers are alert to what is going on around them.
