FREE Indiana DMV Practical Test
This set of Indiana DMV practise tests include questions based on the Indiana Driver Handbook's most significant traffic signals and laws. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
A driver's licence or learner's permit is necessary for anyone operating a motor vehicle on Indiana's public streets and roads. All applicants for an Indiana driver's licence or learner's permit must pass a vision screening test. The information about the IN BMV written test comes from the Indiana Driver's Manual. You must be able to read and understand regulation, warning, and traffic signs and signals, as well as demonstrate a basic awareness of Indiana road rules, traffic laws, and safe driving practises in order to pass the knowledge test.
There are 50 questions in the BMV written exam. You are permitted to miss 2 of the 16 questions about traffic signs and 6 of the 34 questions about road laws in order to pass the test.
Using any kind of testing assistance will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so stay away from it.
1 . Signaling your intentions before turning, changing lanes, or driving away from a curb:
When changing lanes or turning, signal your intentions well in advance. The law requires that you signal for at least 100 feet before you move your vehicle to the right or left. Before pulling away from a curb, always signal to inform passing drivers of your intentions.
2 . To change lanes you should:
Before changing lanes, you should activate your turn signal in the appropriate direction and check your rearview and side mirrors. Look over your shoulder in the direction you plan to move in order to check your blind spot and check the far lane to be sure no one else is trying to enter the same lane as you. Change lanes when you are sure it is safe to do so.
3 . You may not park:
There are a number of locations where it is unlawful to park, including on a crosswalk or in a marked bicycle lane. When parking on the street, you must be within 12 inches of the side of the road.
4 . When changing lanes, you can check your blind spots by:
You should turn your head to check your blind spots before every lane change.

Chevron signs like this indicate that the road curves sharply in the direction indicated by the chevron (in this case, to the left). There may be several chevron signs placed throughout a curve.
6 . You are turning onto a two-lane road divided by a broken yellow line. You know immediately that:
Yellow centerlines are used to separate traffic moving in opposite directions. Broken lines may be crossed to pass slower-moving traffic when it is safe to do so.
7 . This sign means:

Regulation signs regulate traffic speed and movement, displaying rules which drivers must obey. This sign is posted at traffic signals where turning right on a red light is not permitted.
8 . You come to an intersection with a flashing red light. You must:
A flashing red light means that you must come to a full stop, and then proceed when the way is clear.
