FREE Oregon DMV Practical Test Page 3 of 5
The practise exams for the Oregon DMV include questions based on the most important traffic signals and regulations from the Oregon Driver Handbook. To study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Residents must have an Oregon driver's licence or learner's permit to operate a motor vehicle on any Oregon street or highway. Your eyesight will be tested by the DMV to ensure that you can see clearly enough to drive safely. The Oregon DMV written test will include questions about Oregon road rules, traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practises, all of which will be based on the contents of the Oregon Driver's Manual. You must wait at least one day after failing your OR DMV knowledge test before taking it again.
There are 35 questions on the test, and you must get at least 28 accurate answers to pass (80 %). To prepare for the official Oregon DMV driver's licence test, practise with this sample DMV test and study the manual.
Using any form of testing help will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take further action against your driver's licence, so avoid it.
15 . By driving a motor vehicle on the roadways in Oregon, you have agreed to:
Under the Implied Consent Law, by driving a vehicle in the state, you give your consent to take a breath, blood, or urine test when asked to do so by a police officer if you are arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII). Refusing to take one of these tests when asked will result in potential legal repercussions.
16 . If you need to drive in foggy weather:
You are required to use your headlights during the day when visibility is reduced to 500 feet or less. When you first turn on your headlights, be sure they are adjusted to the low beam setting. Using high beams in fog or rain will cause the light to reflect back into your eyes, lowering visibility even more.
17 . When approaching a steady red traffic light, drivers should:
A steady red traffic light indicates that drivers must come to a complete stop. Driving through a red light is against the law and is extremely dangerous. Drivers may turn right on a steady red light if there is no sign prohibiting a turn on red.
18 . Traffic signs and pavement markings:
Traffic flow is controlled by pavement markings, traffic islands, signals, and signs. These devices inform drivers of conditions on the roadway and help guide drivers safely to their destinations. You must always obey traffic signs, signals, and pavement markings.
19 . When approaching a traffic signal displaying a steady yellow arrow, drivers:
A steady yellow arrow indicates that a red arrow is about to appear. Stop unless you are already within the intersection.
20 . While driving on a two-lane road without bicycle lanes, you encounter a bicyclist traveling in the same direction. What is the safest way to pass the bicyclist?
You should pass a bicyclist the same way you would pass any other vehicle, but not so fast or close to them that you throw debris in their face or blow them around with the draft of air from your vehicle. Allow at least 3 feet of space between your side mirror and the bicyclist, or at least 5 feet on higher speed roads or when there is a group of bicyclists. Honking unnecessarily may startle riders and make them more likely to crash.
21 . Which of the following statements is true?
Motorcycles are entitled to the width of a full lane. Be sure your vehicle is entirely in the left lane before attempting to pass a motorcycle on the left.
