FREE Minnesota DMV Practical Test Page 3 of 5
The Minnesota DMV practise examinations include questions based on the Minnesota Driver Handbook's most essential traffic signals and laws. Use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam to study for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
On the practise exam, each question gets a tip and explanation to help you remember the concepts. The written component of the official Minnesota DMV test will include questions about traffic rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as knowledge from the Driver Handbook.
Anyone driving a vehicle on Minnesota's public streets or highways must have a valid driver's licence or learner's permit. When you apply for or renew your driver's licence or learner's permit, your eyes will be checked. The Minnesota DMV written test includes multiple-choice and true or false questions that assess your knowledge and understanding of Minnesota traffic laws, signage, and safety regulations. The Minnesota DMV test consists of 40 questions and is based on information from the official Minnesota Driver's Manual. To pass, you must get 32 right answers (80 percent).
Using any kind of testing assistance will result in an automatic fail, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so stay away from it.

When passing a school bus stopped on the opposite side of a multilane highway with a median or divider, drivers may continue driving. If the highway is not separated by a median or divider, drivers on both sides of the street must stop.
18 . A good rule to remember for passing is:
Each time you pass another vehicle, there is an increased chance for a collision. If you are moving faster than surrounding traffic, you will have to continue passing others. Drive with the flow of traffic, within the legal speed limit, and pass only as needed.
19 . When parallel parking between two cars, you should first:
After finding a parking space, checking traffic, and signaling, you should stop parallel to the vehicle directly ahead of your desired parking space before turning your wheel to park.
20 . When driving in traffic, it is safest to:
Crashes often happen when some drivers go faster or slower than other vehicles on the road. Always try to drive with the flow of traffic, within the posted speed limit.
21 . Consuming which of the following substances may impair your ability to drive safely and may result in an arrest for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII)?
A wide variety of intoxicants can impair your ability to drive. These include all types of alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, inhalants, and many legal medications (both prescription and over-the-counter).
22 . It is unlawful to drive alongside a motorcycle in the same lane.
You must never attempt to share a lane with a motorcyclist, even if it looks like there is enough room to do so. Motorcyclists need to have a full lane width to be able to maneuver safely.
23 . A bicyclist who doesn’t obey traffic laws:
All bicyclists have the same rights, duties, and responsibilities as drivers of motor vehicles. Motorists and bicyclists who do not obey traffic laws can be ticketed.
24 . While driving, you come upon a sign displaying the words “Reduced speed, 35 mph." This means:
"Reduced speed" signs inform drivers that they must reduce their speeds. If a new speed limit is posted on one of these signs, the new speed limit begins at the sign.
