FREE Arizona DMV Practice Test #23 Page 2 of 4
This DMV practise tests for Arizona was just updated for January 2024. It includes questions based on the most important traffic signs and restrictions from the 2024 Arizona Driver Handbook. To prepare for the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam, use actual questions that are very similar (often identical!) to the DMV driving permit test and driver's licence exam.
Each practise test question offers a recommendation and explanation to help you remember the topics. Questions about road rules, traffic signs, and driving statutes, as well as information from the Driver Handbook, will be included in the written portion of the official DMV test.
You must properly answer 24 out of 30 questions to receive a passing grade. To help you prepare for your Arizona instruction permit or driver's licence, take our DMV practise test.
The DMV exam is accessible in a variety of languages.
Using a testing aid of any kind will result in an automatic failure, and the DMV may take additional action against your driver's licence, so don't do it.
9 . What does this road sign indicate?
Pentagonal signs indicate that you are in or are approaching a school zone and/or school crossing. Be aware of children when driving near a school zone and follow posted speed limits.
10 . You are driving on a city street and see an emergency vehicle with flashing lights behind you. What should you do?
You must yield the right-of-way to any emergency vehicle that is using its siren and lights. Drive to the right edge of the road and stop until the emergency vehicle has passed. If you are within an intersection, drive through the intersection first and then stop.
11 . This sign means:
When approaching this sign, you must yield the right-of-way. Slow down and let vehicles and pedestrians crossing your path pass before you proceed. If necessary, stop before going ahead.
12 . This is the shape and color of a ____ sign.
Downward-facing triangular signs mean drivers must yield. When approaching a yield sign, slow down to a speed that is reasonable for existing conditions and stop if necessary. If you must stop, do so at a marked stop line, if it exists.
13 . If a motorist sees pedestrians in an upcoming crosswalk, what should the motorist do?
A driver must yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian within a crosswalk. The driver should wait until the intersection is clear to proceed.
14 . When driving under snowy or icy conditions:
When driving under snowy or icy conditions, you should make speed and directional changes gradually. Never use cruise control when driving on snow or ice because your tires may lose contact with the road and you will lose control of your vehicle.
15 . You are coming to an intersection with a flashing red light. You should:
A flashing red traffic light means the same thing as a stop sign. You must come to a complete stop, yield to other traffic and pedestrians, and then proceed when it safe to do so.
16 . When you drive through a construction zone, you should:
To avoid contributing to chronic traffic congestion, you should not "rubberneck." That is, you should not slow down to look at out-of-the-ordinary things.
